🚀 QC One Portal: Release 4.18.0
Portal Improvements & Bug Fixes
This release focuses on making results and reports clearer, improving collaboration in SM reports, and strengthening integrations and security. It also contains several stability and quality fixes.
New & improved
1. Multi-select concluding blocks
What changed
When closing an inspection or assessment, you can now select multiple “concluding blocks” instead of being limited to just one.
Why this is useful
- Capture complex outcomes more accurately (e.g. “Accepted with remarks” and “Follow-up required”).
- Align better with internal SOPs where multiple conclusions must be registered.
- Improve downstream reporting and analytics, as all relevant conclusions are recorded.
What you will see
- In the conclusion step, checkboxes replace (or complement) the previous single-select behaviour.
- All selected concluding blocks will be visible in the final result and relevant reports.
No configuration is required; the feature will be available automatically after the update.

2. Comments in SM reports
What changed
You can now add comments directly in SM reports, so context and clarifications stay together with the reported data.
Key capabilities
- Add comments to SM report sections or items where clarifications are needed.
- Use comments to explain deviations, justify decisions, or document follow-up actions.
- Keep discussions in one place rather than spread over email or chat.
Benefits
- Better audit trail and traceability.
- Easier handover between colleagues and shifts.
- Less time spent looking for context outside the system.
If your account has access to SM reports today, you will automatically see the new commenting options after the release.
3. Clearer score direction handling
What changed
We improved how “score direction” is handled and displayed, especially in situations where:
- A higher score means a better result (e.g. compliance scores), or
- A lower score means a better result (e.g. number of defects, non-conformities).
What this means for you
- Score direction is now clearer in the UI and reports.
- Charts and summaries interpret the scores correctly (e.g. green when “lower is better” where applicable).
- Reduced confusion when comparing lots/batches or monitoring trends over time.
This is a behaviour/UX improvement; your existing scores and data remain unchanged.
Bug fixes & quality improvements
Alongside the changes above, this release includes several smaller fixes and improvements, for example:
- Minor UI/UX improvements in reporting and conclusion flows.
- Stability fixes around saving and loading SM reports.
- General performance and robustness improvements for background jobs and integrations.
None of these changes require customer-side configuration and are applied automatically as part of the release.
Impact & actions for customers
- Downtime: We do not expect significant downtime. If a short interruption is needed during deployment, it will be communicated via your regular channel.
- Configuration: No manual configuration is required to start using the new Portal features.
- Integrations: If you maintain custom API integrations, we recommend verifying authentication/refresh logic after the release, due to the updated token expiration mechanism.
